Potential Rail Transit / BRT - Pinellas Alternatives Analysis

Earlier this year, TBARTA, in partnership with three other agencies, began an Alternatives Analysis (AA) in Pinellas County to determine the best transit modes and alignments to connect downtown St. Petersburg, downtown Clearwater, and the Gateway area.  An AA is an important step in the process of applying for federal funding.  During this step, a list of many possible alignments within a given study area is slowly narrowed down to a single alignment, referred to as the "Locally Preferred Alternative."  Currently, the project is in the third phase, which includes additional public outreach, selecting the stations, technology and costs.
