As the calendar turns and the weather cools off, it is the perfect time to get out and ride your bike. What better opportunity to get out and ride than the Fifth Annual SWFBUD Bicycle Bash Festival, presented by Cure On Wheels on November 6 at Flatwoods Park. Here is Hillsborough County Commissioner Mark Sharpe with more information.
Bicycle Bash guests include Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn; State Rep. Janet Cruz; Tampa City Councilwoman Yolie Capin; St. Petersburg Councilwoman Leslie Curran; Hillsborough County Commissioner Mark Sharpe; Bikes Belong advocacy group; announcers Skip Mahaffey and Brendan McLaughlin of ABC Action News; the famed Taco Bus food truck; face painters and a bouncy house for the kids and music.
SWFBUD will also give its annual SWFBUDDY Awards at the Bicycle Bash to local residents who have helped the cause of bicycling in the Tampa Bay area this past year. A swap meet, activities for kids and fun bike activities will be going on throughout the Bicycle Bash. Mayor Buckhorn will also lead the "Buckhorn Bash Ride" around the 7-Mile Loop at 11:15 a.m.
